TrolleyUp Privacy Policy

Who we are

TrolleyUp (https://trolleyup.com) is a shared shopping list for families, events, and church and community groups. The TrolleyUp owner is responsible for your information under South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

What we store online

Your account: your email address, or your Google sign-in; the name you choose; and your @username.

Your photo, only if you choose: if you sign in with Google and switch on "Show my Google photo", we store the web address of your Google profile photo and show it to the people on your lists. Otherwise they see your initials. You can switch it off any time in Me.

Your lists: the lists, items, notes and requests you share with the people on them.

Invite codes, and reports that people send to the TrolleyUp team.

This is stored with Google Firebase, which may keep data outside South Africa.

What stays on your phone only

Where you live, items you added before, subtitles you used and extra stores you added. We never receive these.

If you sign in with Google

We receive only your name, email address, Google account ID and profile photo address, and use them only to create your TrolleyUp account and sign you in on any phone. Your photo is only shown if you switch it on.

We do not read your Gmail, contacts, files or anything else in your Google account. We do not share, sell or transfer your Google account information to anyone, and we do not use it for advertising.

Who can see what

People on a list see that list, and the name and @username of everyone on it.

The TrolleyUp team never reads your lists. They see reports, which contain only what the person reporting writes, and basic account details (name, @username) needed to handle reports and misuse.

What we don't do

We do not sell your information, show adverts, or track you across other websites.

Your rights

You may ask to see, correct or delete your information at any time. Email admin@trolleyup.com and we will reply within 30 days.

When an account is deleted, its account details and username are removed. Lists you shared stay with the other people on them.

You can also complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa (https://inforegulator.org.za).

Changes

If this policy changes, the app asks everyone to agree again.
